Put the dye into the wax when all the wax has melted. If you put it in before the wax has melted you will not be able to see if all the wax has melted. You can mix the candle dye to make other colours

The dye in Inpex candle dye flakes have been laboratory tested for burning behaviour, light fastness, the effects of use in different wax compounds, and chemical reactions with fragrances.
The candle making wax dye flakes are available in multiples of 1g at 6p per gram with a 5g minimum. Order 50g or over of a colour and the price is 4p per gram. Add the colour or colours you would like to purchase and when you add to basket 5g will be added you can then alter the amount in the basket and recalculate.

Each 1g of dye will colour 100g of wax, just drop the candle dye into your melted wax and stir well for a few minutes. You can alter the amount of dye used to change the shade of the colour but if you use less than 1g of dye to 100g of wax the UV light inhibitors become less effective and the colour is likely to fade in strong light.

The coloured candles are a good representation of the finished colour but are meant as a guide only, as always test small amounts of the candle dye if you are looking for an exact match.

The stronger the percentage the brighter the colour
*Some soy waxes will frost over the dye leaving a white residue - test the wax you are using*

The Red dye has a melt point of 84C
Melting the Inpex SD dye in a small amount of wax before adding to your melted wax will make it dissolve better.
