A candle wick is a wick specifically adapted for use in a candle. A candle wick works by providing a mechanism, known as capillary action, to transport the fuel, typically melted candle wax, to the flame. When the liquid fuel reaches the flame it then vaporizes and burns.

Wedo LX wick is a specially braided flat wick which maintains a slight curl when burning. The curl moves the tip of the wick into the hottest part of the flame, which helps to minimize or eliminate carbon buildup (mushrooming), reduce smoking, and provide a 'self-trimming' effect, which creates a very stable and consistent flame. The Wedo LX is a great wick for containers and pillars, since a consistent flame keeps the heat in the center of the candle, helping to insure that Glass containers don't overheat on one side, while wax remains unmelted on the other and Pillars don't 'tunnel' or have an uneven melt causing wax to leak out and spill.

Pro's:
Probably the best wick on the market when making candles using good quality unused materials.
Self trimming wick negates the need for manual trimming of the wick. Gives a good central wax pool
Con's:
Can have problems coping with old re-used wax or heavy concentration of fragrance oils.

Tealight Candles

The Wedo TL wick is a tight braided cotton wick which is designed for use in small candles and tealights, the TL wick has the Wedo self trimming effect that minimises carbon build up and smoking as well creating a very stable and consistent flame. The tight braid gives a small neat flame giving a longer lasting candle. The Wedo TL wick is suitable for paraffin and natural wax though larger sized wicks are needed for the natural wax than would be used in paraffin wax.
